Meet Dr. Nick L. Kavouklis - “Dr. Nick”
Hello! My name is Dr. Nick L. Kavouklis, (a.k.a. “Dr. Nick”). I am a native Floridian born and reared in the Tampa Bay area. Following high school I attended Florida State University (Go Noles!) where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biological Science. Upon graduating from FSU, I attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery Dental School, which boasts not only the longest name in the nation but is also the first ever dental school in the country. There, I received my degree, Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.)
Following dental school I kept heading north…to the Big Apple to be precise. In New York I completed an optional, two year, general practice residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. At Lutheran Medical Center I took my education to the next level as I practiced and further learned all aspects of dentistry from Implantology and Oral Surgery to Endodontics and Periodontology. During my second year of residency I was named Chief Resident and again I was able to further my education as well as help the new residents get acclimated to New York and their residency program. During this period I had the opportunity to “moonlight” in a private practice until residency was over. In the summer of 2008, I decided it was time to return to Tampa Bay.
I am currently living in Tampa and still continue to learn, not only from my father but also through continuing education courses. I have become certified in Sedation Dentistry and Invisalign and I am currently enrolled for continuing education classes at the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) where I continue to learn the art of cosmetic dentistry and veneers. I strive to be the best dentist I can be for my patients and through these courses I can offer them the best up-to-date treatment.
I look forward to working at Tampa Dental for years to come. I am happy for my father and proud of what he has accomplished. I admire his relationships with his patients and hope I can develop similar relationships with mine. I aspire to take Tampa Dental into the future.
