After Opalescence Boost Whitening

Opalesence Boost is immediate! It whitens your teeth – fast. It is 38% hydrogen peroxide gel with potassium nitrate and fluoride, which decreases sensitivity while strengthening enamel and preventing cavities.

It will take two hours in the dental chair. No lights, no lasers. Your mouth will be gently propped open and your teeth painted several times with the gel. The gel will continue to whiten for 48 hours after leaving the office.

To go along with the process, you will be given a follow-up-kit for home. It contains toothpaste high in fluoride; three at home whitening trays or syringes and three applications of Ultra Eze.

Teeth are very susceptible to picking up color right after Boost. Patients should drink clear liquids and eat non-staining foods as in berries, catsup, mustards, etc...for the next 48 hours. After the 48 hours you will be asked to whiten three more times just to set the new white shade. Syringes or gel are in the take-home-kit.

Since you have invested in whitening your teeth it would be wise to use straws in colored drinks to preserve your white shade. Below is a list of staining foods and liquids:

  • Red wine, All berries
  • Coffee, tea, soy sauce, cola
  • Tobacco products
  • Colored waters using dye such as Gatorade, vitamin water, etc.
  • Mustard, ketchup, red sauces
